Hi all, I am hoping that some of you techno's can really help me out with an old problem.

My partner has an old Compaq lte 5280 laptop pc, it has given her a wonderful 10+ years service.

It was purchased second hand and did not come along with any setup disk or accompanying software, how it has survived the lifetime it did is a modern day wonder.

Most recently i have been asking my G/F to back up all of her files,this, she failed to do and now is unable to boot up her laptop, it gets a little past the windows 98 splash screen then states that

Now, from my limited knowledge, i believe this may be a video driver?

I am able to get into a). the Bios settings and B). safe mode

I Have a windows 98 start up disk, but from another PC that met it's maker a while ago, I expect some of you may tell me to fling it, but i believe if there is hope, then their is a way.

What i am asking is there anything that i could do to regain access to this old dinosaur?

P.S, working with a 3.5" floppy disk, so unable to use anything on CD's ;o)
