Compaq Presario
Compaq computers require a special boot sector and mrb table, you cannot install any Windows product like XP home unless you have this special boot sector otherwise you will get an error message.. You have only 2 ways. Compaq recovery disk master sets or xp compaq disk only. You also need SP patch from HP/compaq if you run SP2. Compaq makes their modified versions which use IBM like DOS formats. IBM think lap tops also require special setup/config disks before you can install anything.
