I hope someone can help me. I have an IBM T40 laptop with Windows 2000. It crashed last week and now I can't get it to boot properly and I don't have the installation CD nor the "recovery console".

When booting, Windows does start and the screen shows "loading your personal settings" as the Windows music starts. Then, the screen says "Saving your settings" as if Windows is shutting down and I can't get any further. Any suggestions how to fix?
