Hi, i have a very old system of my friend's here, it's a compaq presario 2100 notebook. the cd rom drive on it is out of order, and everything on it is out of order including the entire os which is xp home. its installer service is corrupt, its MMC console would not open, you cant access msconfig, sys restore is turned off so we cant talk about restoring, i tried os reinstall with a xp pro installation files which i copied onto the hd via a pe drive, but after initial copying files stage, it goes to a BSOD stop 0x00000071 (0000 0000 0000 0000) Session5 initialization failed, so i think the only way out is reinstalling the damned xp home again, now is there a way i can get recovery console "downloaded" from some web site so that i can copy it on to the hd and run it like a normal app from the gui????
