Re: Missing AutoExec file???

Re: Missing AutoExec file???

...it's me again...

Just to clarify when I say that the CDs don't give me a DOS prompt what happens is the system loads WinME from the harddrive like normal like there's no CD in the drive.

And before anyone asks, yes ... I've gone into the BIOS to makes sure the CD-ROM drive is on the boot list. The order is:

1: Floppy
2: CDROM
3: HDD

When I stick the Recover Disc from Dell in and boot the machine it asks me if I want to boot from HDD or CD. If I say CD it starts the WinME install but warns me because there's a preexisting install on the drive. It quits to a DOS prompt, but FORMAT isn't on the disc so I can't format the drive.

I noticed FORMAT is only on the nonRAM ISO so that's the one I'm trying to get to work. I didn't finalize the CD so I can still add an AutoExec file to it if someone can help me figure out where it is or what happened to it. I know I can just write an AutoExec in notepad, but it's litterally been decades since I last wrote an AutoExec file and don't remember how.

...thanks for any help provided.
