Hi. You nb may have sata HDD, so you need correct drivers for install (usually using from floppy). When you boot from xp install, you may see "Press F6 for add drivers" or something like that..

But i don´t know, what to do whithout floppy driver.. Maybe you will must go to some pc expert, and install windows to your hdd in desktop computer with correct drivers...
