"Linux is better for most things, but not for gaming. I don't know how people running only OS X or a Linux based OS call themselves gamers."
We don't. We use our machines to accomplish something called: "WORK".
Maybe you've heard of it.
On par, all of the gamers I've been forced to deal with have known the least about their systems, and have had the most problems in being compromised by viruses, worms and trojans. I know that there have to be a few exceptions to this observation of mine, but I have yet to meet one.
If you want some respect, don't self-identify as a freaking gamer, fer crissakes. Call yourself a Linux Admin, a Systems Analyst, a security consultant, and Open Source Programmer--anything but a Consumer Gamer.
BTW: You won't find our systems compromised, unless there's a verified idiot in charge of the root login.
