Re: Windows XP Home Boot Disk Download

Maybe I am missing something but here goes:

Bought and paid for recovery disks in case of failure. Thought that would be sufficient for our purposes. Need to restore OS. Run the disks and all seems well. Starts setup. Gets to part where it says named computer and then locks up. Any help?

Emachine D2685 80G HD XP HOME /SP3 UPDATED, purchased new years ago
(Emachines told me the recovery disks should work so they didn't know what they could do, Microsoft wants $65.00 just to tell how to get by that computer name screen)
I almost hesitate puttlng info about computer. Other places have made comments like'Get a computer' or "EEEWWWW an Emachine'

It is what I could afford and still is.

So if you can't or won't help be nice and just say so OK?
THX either way.

I guess some people were born computer literate and never needed help, but some of us have to struggle with it.
